This is a collaboration between Music on the Edge, the Northern School of Contemporary Dance and Antonio Bukhar Ssebuuma on a project entitled Freedom Dances.
This is an enthralling tour de force involving a magnificence of 7 artists (four dancers & three musicians) who break free from classic structures and preconceptions.
Here the audience is partnered on an eye catching and sonic journey. Musical moments echo the tors of Dartmoor, tea from Darjeeling; rhythmical nuances radiate from rainforests of Uganda and we hear the cajon from Peru. Experience the exuberance of the Tarantula dance, the Pezzica of Puglia; all held in a juxtaposition with a cornucopia of extracts from a ballet about Aunt Maria and the once upon a time story involving a harlequin and his columbine.
Catch this breathtaking show whilst you can!
